MANGALURU: It was high drama at an apartment on Bejai here where personnel from the
fire department had to use an
aerial ladder platform (ALP) to ensure that a couple could enter their house as their home-alone daughter had locked up from inside and dozed off. The incident took place at an apartment on the
Bejai Church road here on Thursday.
“A 12-year-old was sleeping inside her apartment located on the fourth floor. As her parents reached home and tried opening the main door, they couldn’t as the girl had locked up from the inside. The couple called us at 5.35pm. We immediately reached the location with our ALP. Our firemen got on to the fourth floor balcony and opened the door. The couple could then enter the house and wake up their daughter,” the
chief fire officer said.
