Greesyhands collaborates with vehicle owners and garages, to provide price comparison of two-wheeler services online
BENGALURU: A common interest in automobile parts and software brought two engineers, Rahul Gupta and Gagan Preet Singh together in 2016. They established their startup Greesyhands, a two- wheeler garage aggregator that helps customers book their services online. They also provide garages their own, customised Software as a Service (SaaS) to help manage their shop digitally.
Rahul, a chemical engineering graduate from VIT university and an ex-software consultant was
passionate about technologies used in automobiles and in particular, Software as a Service. Gagan Preet Singh, an automobile engineering graduate also from VIT ,was a R&D employee in a tractor manufacturing facility and an avid reader of automobile journals.
The like-minded duo moved to Mysuru, to launch their startup. “There are various service
providers available in market but most of them lack the vision we offer, of not only serving our end customer (the vehicle owner) but also ensuring the sustainment of garages. We have future plans to give them financial security and a stable position in market. There are still a couple of garages who are working under dire conditions. Several have been functioning on daily wages, for the past 70 years but are yet to achieve a respectable position in the society,” says Rahul.
“We provide price comparison of different two wheeler service stations to the customers, which is being appreciated by them,” he adds.Initially, they faced several obstacles such as mechanics not obliging to collaborate, as a result they couldn’t compare the prices of different service stations. In addition to that, they didn’t have any channel partner or provider who could take up the responsibility of effective services whenever a vehicle complaint is booked.
Two years in to the business and they have received a good response. They claim to have 3,000 plus customers and tie ups with 50 plus workshops. They have overcome primary challenges such as creating a team, funding and initial customer acquisition They are expanding to Bengaluru and other metro cities soon.
“Employing staff was another challenge, as we couldn’t afford to pay high salaries. Moreover, people were not willing to relocate to Mysuru. We could not find suitable candidates locally. They were not prepared to join a new startup. We hired home based entrepreneurs and college going students studying in Bengaluru and Delhi,” Rahul informs.
For customers interested to avail their services regarding immediate breakdown or regular maintenance services, they can download the Android application ‘Greesyhands’. They can also visit websitegreesyhands.in
