Susan I. Michael, 97, of Center Twp., passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Born September 16, 1920, in Windber, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John and Agnes Pastorek. Mrs. Michael was a member of St. Titus Catholic Church, Aliquippa, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Twp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Michael, Sr., and seven brothers and sisters, Anna McAdam, John Joseph Pastorek, Mary Pastorek Grela, Margaret Theresa Pastorek Laslo, Agnes Pastorek Patterson, Helen Pastorek Katchur, and Verna Pastorek Cordutsky. Surviving are her four children and their spouses, Joan and Roy Pirain, Dr. John and Anne Michael, Dr. Esther Michael-Momtaheni and Dr. David Momtaheni, and George and Jayne Michael. Susan also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and their spouses, John and Lynn Pirain, David and Erin Pirain, Renee and Joel Vasilko, J. Reed and Elizabeth Pirain, John and Julie Michael, Dr. Holly Michael and her fiancé, Josh Gellner, Heather and Jason Grew, Adam Momtaheni, Ashley Momtaheni, Daniel Michael, and Christopher Michael, and 12 great -grandchildren, Malyana, Amanda, and Justin Pirain, Benjamin and Ryan Pirain, Amelia, Lillian, and Della Vasilko, J. Reese Pirain, Katelyn and Jake Michael, and Cullen Grew. Susan was a kind, generous, and warm hearted person, who cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., CENTER TOWNSHIP, 3475 Brodhead Road, Monaca. Family and friends will meet Friday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Center Twp., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m., with Father Martin Bartel, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. A parish vigil service will be held at 3:45 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
