Rajkot: A family dispute over ancestral land took a bloody turn when a man rained bullets on his uncle and killed him in Bhadli village of Jasdan taluka late on Wednesday night. The victim Dhiru Khachar (62), a lawyer living in Rajkot, was waylaid by his nephew Siddhraj Khachar and his three unidentified associates.
“Khachar was returning from his farm when he was waylaid by the accused who started firing indiscriminately on him. Ducking the bullets, Khachar took shelter in a dairy. However, they chased him and fired 10 bullets of which four pierced through him,” said H G Palacharya, Jasdan PI.

According to police, the murder was the result of a long-standingland dispute between Khachar and Siddhraj. Both Siddhraj and Khachar had inherited a piece land from their ancestors. However, Siddhraj alleged that Khachar had got more share than him and had allegedly usurped his property.

Khachar too had fired at Siddhraj about one-and-a half-years ago. Khachar’s son Jaideep Khachar (30) has lodged a complaint. The accused are on the run.
