KADAPA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated that despite Centre’s betrayal and non-cooperation, Andhra Pradesh has been registering much progress and gave a clarion call to the people to teach a lesson to the BJP and YSR Congress (YSRC).Speaking at the Nava Nirmana Deeksha programme at the municipal stadium here on Wednesday, he said the BJP-led government at the Centre had failed to accord special category status (SCS) to the State and fulfil other provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. While all other states are celebrating formation days, AP is observing the Nava Nirmana Deeksha, he lamented.
“The Centre has sanctioned 11 Central institutions to AP for which the State has allocated lands worth Rs 11,000 crore. But the construction of the institutions is going on at a snail’s pace as adequate funds were not allocated by the Centre. If the construction work goes on at this pace, it will not be completed even after 20 years,” he said.The Chief Minister highlighted that 2,284 MoUs for investment of Rs 16 lakh crore had been signed at the Visakhapatnam CII Summit paving the way for generating 37 lakh jobs in the coming days and added that it was achieved without the Centre’s help.
Turning his ire at the Centre for dragging the issue of establishment of a steel factory in Kadapa, he said the required infrastructure, including land, water and transportation facility, were provided but the Centre was hesitating to launch the project.Assuring justice to students of Fatima Institute of Medical Sciences (FIMS), he made it clear that the students who have secured seats in the NEET, would be allotted seats at the college itself. He promised that the government would make FIMS refund the fees to students who did not appear for NEET. Stringent action would be initiated against the FIMS management, he made it clear.
Naidu announced that Rs 1,000 unemployment dole would be disbursed to eligible unemployed youths. They could use the dole for attending interviews and preparing for competitive examinations, he said.
About 10,000 teachers had been appointed at schools so far and another 10,000 would be appointed soon, he disclosed and said the government was aiming to achieve 100 per cent literacy by 2019, he said.The Chief Minister appealed to the Telugu people not to vote for the BJP as in Karnataka. Ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, C Adinarayana Reddy, MP C M Ramesh, MLCs P Ramasubba Reddy and Collector C Harikiran were among a host of dignitaries who were present.
