SYCAMORE – An Aurora man facing a third driving under the influence charge was released from the DeKalb County Jail on his signature, but he’s also wearing an alcohol monitoring bracelet.
Bradley Carter, 34, of the 100 block of Cold Springs Court, has been charged with aggravated DUI, DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control device. If he’s convicted of the most serious charge, aggravated DUI, it typically is punishable by one to three years in prison.
The release said that about 11:07 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy pulled Carter over for not stopping at the sign at the intersection.
Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan said a deputy saw Carter’s vehicle traveling west on Old State Road when it crossed the fog line onto the shoulder multiple times, and that Carter then failed to stop at the sign at Five Points, finally coming to a halt in the intersection. As Carter continued west, he crossed the line onto the shoulder again, prompting the traffic stop, Sullivan said.
An investigation revealed Carter has two previous convictions for DUI, the release said.
