While the BMC claimed there were no incidents of waterlogging, people took to social media to share pictures of the same.

Many Mumbaikars woke up to thunder and rain on Thursday morning. The India Meteorological Department has forecast “heavy rainfall in isolated areas” for June 7 and has issued a warning of ‘extremely heavy rainfall’ in the coming days.

The city saw moderate rainfall from 6 a.m. onwards. Colaba has recorded 12mm rainfall on BMC’s automated weather systems. Other areas with moderate rainfall include Dharavi (20mm),Goregaon (26mm), Malad (18mm), and Andheri (20mm).

While the BMC claimed there were no incidents of waterlogging, people took to social media to share pictures of a flooded Hindmata junction, Bandra’s St. Paul road, and the Kalina area.

While there were no snags reported on Western Railway, Central Railway had been running with a delay of 15 minutes. Waterlogging has been reported at Kurla station. However, Central Railway maintained that their services have not been affected.

The IMD however, has still not termed this a ‘monsoon’ and the monsoon is expected to hit the city in 48 hours.
