Two men tried to steal a dog from the Isabella County shelter on Friday and sheriff’s officials are asking for help in identifying them.

Surveillance photos of the two were posted to the department’s Facebook page on Thursday morning.

Officials said the men arrived in a very dirty black Chevrolet pickup truck about 1:30 p.m. last Friday.

“These two men were involved in an attempt to steal a dog from the Isabella County Animal Control building,” officials said.

Sheriff Micheal Main said the men tried to get a dog but left without one.

“They tried to lure the dogs out but then got spooked and left,” he said. “No idea on the type of dog or why.”

Anyone able to help identify the men is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 989-772-5911 or send a message to the department’s Facebook page.
