Nagpur: Newly appointed national office-bearers of BSP exhorted the party workers to work hard to ensure party supremo Mayawati became the prime minister after 2019 general elections. The Vidarbha unit of the party had organized their felicitation at Deshpande Hall on Thursday afternoon.
Jaiprakash Singh, national vice-president and national coordinator of BSP, told the gathering Congress and BJP were two sides of the same coin and SCs should maintain equidistance from both. Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the BJP leader had ushered in a tyrannical rule. “The BJP government is on its way out and it will be replaced by a government representing SCs, STs, OBCs and minorities, people who respect Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution,” he said.

Singh expressed regret that people in Maharashtra, who cherished the ideals of Ambedkar, did not vote for BSP but for other political parties.

Rajya Sabha MP Veer Singh, who is the national general secretary of BSP and has been recently made the national coordinator, also exhorted party workers to work for making Mayawati the PM. He also slammed BJP for its anti-SC decisions.

Newly appointed Maharashtra coordinators Gauri Prasad Upasak and Pramod Raina were also felicitated. State BSP president Suresh Sakhre, vice-president Krishna Bele and state coordinator Sandip Tajne also addressed the party workers. The function was compered by state secretary Bhau Gondane while district president Vilas Somkuwar presented a vote of thanks. Several workers from other political parties joined BSP after the function.
