HYDERABAD: A woman on Wednesday wrote to MEA asking the Indian Consulate in Dubai to help her son return to India. Syed Aburaza, a businessman from Nizamabad, went to Dubai four years ago to work as a business partner with a private firm there. He and his kafeel (sponsor) came to the decision that the former would pay the latter 10,000 AED (approx Rs 1.8 lakh) every year.

This year, due to losses in business, he lost his job and could not pay the stipulate amount. As a result, the kafeel  confiscated Aburaza’s passport and visa, and said that he would not return it until he paid the amount in full. Since then he has been stuck in Dubai.Responding to  Heena Begum’s plea, The Indian consul-general responded to the call and sought Aburaza’s contact details.
