Under the system all online transactions will be linked to the central server  Bangalore. “The dependency of sub post offices on the head post office would reduce as they can now function independently with the implementation of the new facility," he explained.

Senior post master of the Bistupur head post office R.L. Sinha, who was present at the inaugural function, said that currently, postal transactions are made offline and later updates are made online. “This used to take time. To consolidate these efforts of IT modernisation, India Post has introduced CSI solution.

CSI has a provision for upgrading mail handling and counter operations, finance and accounting and human resources on a new platform. It is expected to bring all services of a post office and its administration under one platform. It functions on a centralised online real time exchange of all transactions including mails, resulting in better accuracy and speed of operations.
