ACB officials carry out raids at SATS deputy director’s house| Express
HYDERABAD: Deputy director of the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) here has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) on Wednesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a sportsperson for a certificate for admission into MBBS under sports quota. Days after the agency registered cases in connection with irregularities at the Sports Authority of Telangana State, the ACB officials on Wednesday conducted searches at the residences of SATS members and deputy director G Venkata Ramana.
The ACB officials said that criminal misconduct cases were registered against G Venkata Ramana, and four others including K Manohar, in-charge of A and SS, GA Shoba, deputy director(C&A), G Chandra Reddy, administrator (cycling velodrome), Vimalakar Rao, administrator, SATS. Venkata Ramana was produced before a local court which sent him for judicial remand. The raids were also carried out at the office of SATS and some documents were seized.

While the ACB officials are investigating, the agency received another complaint from Satyanarayana, father of Bharathchandra Reddy stating that the Sports Authority deputy director Venkata Ramana, who was a scrutiny committee member of the authority for issuing a copy of the allotment of priorities to the sports person for the admission under sports quota, has demanded and accepted `1 lakh bribe. ACB registered a case against Venkata Ramana and four others for indulging in offence.
