CHENNAI: Two children died when a portion of the compound wall of their house collapsed at
Mehta Nagar here on Thursday night.
The victims have been identified as Dayan, 8, and his cousin sister Muskal, 4.
The children were playing outside their house around 6.45pm when the wall collapsed.
Hearing a huge sound, their family members came out of the house and found them under the debris. They pulled the children out the debris and rushed them to a nearby private hospital where they were declared brought dead.
The had sustained severe head injuries,
police said.
The
Aminjikarai police have registered a case and were investigating.
Police said the compound wall had already developed cracks and Wednesday’s rain had made it weaker, leading to the accident.
