BELAGAVI: The supporters of former Minister and Yamakanmardi MLA Satish Jarkiholi allegedly ransacked the office of Belagavi Rural District Congress, in Belagavi on Thursday. They are demanding a ministerial post for Jarkiholi.

The agitators allegedly damaged the furniture, pots and glasses at the office. They also tore down the banners of Congress, blaming its high command for neglecting Jarkiholi. Later the agitators staged a dharna in front of the same office.

Heavy police bandobast has been deployed at Congress office to avoid any more untoward incidents.
