Records tumble as debutants lead from the front in White Ferns win

Jess Watkin bludgeoned her way to 77 not out on debut for the White Ferns.
Debutants Jess Watkin and Bernadine Bezuidenhout have starred in the White Ferns' thrashing of Ireland in Dublin on Wednesday (Thursday NZ time).
Watkin belted three sixes and 11 fours for an unbeaten 77 from 38 balls as the White Ferns cruised to a 10-wicket win in the T20 International. It was the highest score by a White Fern on debut.
Earlier, Northern Spirit wicket-keeper Bernadine Bezuidenhout claimed a women's T20I record-equalling five dismissals as Ireland were held to 136-8 from their 20 overs.

Spinner Leigh Kasperek continued her fine form from the home summer by capturing 3-25 from her four overs.

Lea Tahuhu bowled with pace and aggression to claim 2-22 from her four overs including a wicket with the second ball of the match.
Watkin was ably supported by captain Suzie Bates who finished the game with a six to end on 63 not out from just 29 deliveries.
The pair's 142-run partnership is the fifth highest in women's T20I history and a White Ferns record for any wicket.
The teams play on Friday (Saturday NZT) for the first game of the three-match ODI series.
