HYDERABAD: A newborn girl bitten by rats died on Thursday at Niloufer Hospital in Hyderabad.
The police had found the baby in Nacharam village near Hyderabad. A person named Ahmad, who was going for Namaz in the wee hours, listened a baby's cry in a nearby bush. After searching with the help of his mobile phone light, he found a
baby girl lying near a bush after which he informed the local police.
The police immediately took the bady to the local hospital where she was provided first aid and was then shifted to Niloufer Children's Hospital.
The doctors in the hospital tried to save the baby girl but due to profuse bleeding because of the rat bites, they couldn't save her.
An autopsy report showed several
deep marks of rat bites on the little baby's body.
The police have registered a case and are finding out if there is any woman in the area who was to deliver during last few days. The police have also decided to preserve
DNA samples of the newborn, which could be later used to find out her parents. They suspect that the parents did not want the girl child and hence they decided to get rid of her.
