Surat:
An 11-year-old boy,
who was missing from the city, has been traced by a team of CID crime Ahmedabad in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. A police team has gone to Andhra Pradesh to bring the child to the city. CID investigation revealed that the city police did not register the complaint regarding the boy despite his father having approached them in October 2015. Police negligence meant that the child had to remain in children home in Visakhapatnam for nearly three years.
Ganesh Chudasma, a resident of Amroli, was traced by CID team in the children home at Visakhapatnam when it went there looking for a child missing from Rajkot. The children home officials told the CID team that the child had informed them he was from Gujarat but doesn’t know the exact location of his house.
Cops shared the details with a non-governmental organization, whose volunteers located child’s father Shankar, an autorickshaw driver, who is also a vegetable vendor. Shankar told CID team that he had sold his autorickshaw and mortgaged house to raise money to search for his son, who had gone missing on October 18, 2015. Ganesh was eight years old when he was abducted by someone.
Shankar said he had gone to lodge a missing report with the police on October 20 and even submitted an application, but the cops did not accept it. All his attempts to locate Ganesh had simply failed.
