BHUBANESWAR: Parents and students of management courses of
Xavier University Bhubaneswar, who have been staging a protest in front of the university gate, on Wednesday lodged a police complaint at Pipili police station against the university authorities for allegedly misbehaving and assaulting them.
The agitating parents alleged that the security guards and other staffs of the university physically assaulted the women on dharna and used abusive language against them. They also threatened them of dire consequences if they will not clear the road. "We have been fighting for the genuine rights of our children and will not go away till our demands are fulfilled," said an agitating parent. The parents have been demanding logo of Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) on the certificates issued to students of 2016-18 batch of management courses.
The university authorities did not respond to calls despite several attempts.
