Judicial Magistrate Court II here has rejected the plea of Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department seeking the court’s permission to take Assistant Professor Nirmala Devi, who is accused of attempting to traffic college girls, to Chennai for taking her voice sample.
Judicial Magistrate II N. Thilageswari instead asked the investigating agency to conduct the voice sample at Madurai Central Prison, where Nirmala Devi has been lodged since April 17.
The CB-CID had filed a petition on Wednesday seeking the permission of the court for taking her to Forensic Science Laboratory in Chennai for fetching her voice sample.
