KATHMANDU: The Executive Director (ED)’s post at the Nepal Oil Corporation is vacant after former ED Gopal Khadka stepped down from his post earlier today.
Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav has said that the new Executive Director will be selected through a formal process of competition.
“We will appoint an honest, capable person following a formal selection process as the Executive Director of the corporation. An efficient person will lead the Oil Corporation and not just a random appointment,” said Yadav.
Organising a press meet at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) premises, Singha Durbar, Gopal Khadka said that he had submitted his resignation letter to the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, effective as of today.
A cabinet decision in September last year had removed Khadka from his post on charge of committing irregularities while purchasing land plots for the corporation in various areas.
Later, the Supreme Court had issued an interim order in his favour, against the government decision.
