HYDERABAD:  Two days ahead of Bathini brothers’ annual fish prasadam distribution event, over 500 persons from Rajasthan, Kerala, UP, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal etc have already gathered at Exhibition grounds in Nampally on Wednesday. 

Many of them have come after hearing about the medicine for asthma through word of mouth. They all would spend their night at the shelter erected at the ground. Food stalls providing Rs 5 meal is also set up. The distribution of fish prasadam will start on the wee hours of June 8 and thousands are expected to arrive.  As many as 2,000 policemen have been deployed at the venue.

V Somarajan, who came to take the fish medicine from Kerala said, “I consume fish prasadam on Mrigasira Karthi. I have a breathing problem for the past eight years.” He said that the fish prasadam is believed for curing asthma, cough. I have seen my brother recover from asthma after consuming the fish prasadam and then I came to try the fish medicine for the first time.

I am sure it will help in curing my asthma problem, he added. Rajender Takur is 66-year-old who hails from West Bengal. He said, “I learnt about the prasadam through people in my village who came here last year. So, I decided to come with my family members to have fish prasadam to get rid of my asthma problems.” After taking the fish medicine, I hope there will be some relief from the health problem, he added.
