SYCAMORE – Nearly half of Sycamore businesses where Sycamore police conducted alcohol compliance checks Wednesday failed, according to a news release from the Sycamore Police Department.

Businesses that did not pass their alcohol compliance checks and sold alcohol to minors are Casey's General Store, 105 Plank Road; Circle K, 2001 DeKalb Ave.; County Liquors, 625 E. State St.; Depot Liquors, 524 N. Main St.; Lundeen's Discount Liquor, 1760 DeKalb Ave.; Riverside Marathon, 503 N. Main St.; and Walgreens, 1340 DeKalb Ave.

The businesses that were compliant are 7-Eleven, 404 W. State St.; Arya Tobacco and Liquor, 310 E. State St. No. 9; Cub & Spank's, 113 N. Maple St.; HyVee Gas Station, 2720 DeKalb Ave.; Hy-Vee Grocery Store, 2700 DeKalb Ave.; Laxmi Oil, 441 W. High St.; Osco Drug Store, 220 W. Peace Road; Premier Petro BP, 1615 DeKalb Ave.; and Western Trail Outpost, 439 E. State St.

The release says police strive to provide health and safety for the community's youth, and that compliance checks will continue in the future.
