DHARWAD: High drama prevailed in the small village of Morab near Dharwad after the mortal remains of solider Arjun Annigeri (32) reached the village. The villagers got into an argument with the district administration over the burial site and the uncertainty delayed the funeral by several hours.

Arjun Annigeri died due to severe cardiac arrest on Tuesday morning at Walong in Arunachal Pradesh where he was posted since last few years.

The villagers were demanding a burial place at bus terminal or government school, but Deputy Commissioner S B Bommanahalli said that it was not possible.
Navalgund MLA Shankar Patil Munenkoppa took a call to bury the jawan at the border place of Agricultural Produce Marketing Corporation  but all of a sudden a few villagers denied and demanded a place at bus terminal only.

The family members, however, said they were ready to take the body to their farm land for the burial. The villagers objected to it too. Finally a decision was made by SP Sangeeta G over providing a space at police outpost. Later the last rituals were performed with full state of honours.
