Guar gum futures slip on profit-booking

gum prices fell by Rs 42 to Rs 7,363 per in futures trade today on profit booking by speculators amid weak physical market demand.

Market players attributed the fall in gum futures to subdued trend in the spot markets.

Slackness in export demand from also drove selling in gum futures.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum delivery for the immediate contract June declined by Rs 42 or 0.57 per cent to Rs 7,363 per quintal, with a business turnover of 12,605 open lots.

The delivery of the most traded second contract July month also fell by Rs 27 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 7,460 per quintal, with an open interest of 50,900 lots.
