COIMBATORE: A 40-year-old
businessman was abducted from his office at
Papanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore by a
gang on Thursday. Police suspect the man’s business partner was behind the abduction since there was a financial dispute between them.
Police said a six-member gang entered Johnco Federal’s office in the afternoon and demanded money from him. Johnco, a native of Nagercoil, is doing
real estate business here.
When he refused to pay them money, the gang members abducted him at knifepoint after smashing the glass doors in the office.
Police obtained footage from a CCTV camera. One of the two vehicles used by the gang was later spotted near Edappadi.
The Race Course police were investigating.
