With growing controversy over former president Pranab Mukherjee attending an event of RSS, the chief of the organisation Mohan Bhagwat tried to explain why they invited the ex-Congress leader. Bhagwat also talked on a range of issues.

Here's some of his top comments:

Unregulated strength and power can be dangerous for society

When society at large participates in nation building, only then can governments deliver

Our organisation attempts to cultivate people who lead by example, in every nook and corner of the country

Mukherjee is a man of intellect and experience. It is RSS' tradition to invite dignitaries. The controversy around our invitation for Dr Pranab Mukherjee is useless.

Sangh wants to unite the whole society.

All those who are born in India are Indians.

No Indian is untouchable for us. RSS is not just for Hindus.

Govts can do a lot of thing but it cannot do everything.

We must have a democratic mind.

Hedgewar went to jail during freedom struggle. He gave a message of unity.

People of various ideologies fought together for freedom of India.

Everybody can have a political opinion but there is a limit to have opposing opinion.
