Expressing concern over the rising trend of hate posts in the social media against the politicians, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that people share objectionable posts to grab attention and insult the law-makers.

“It is unfortunate that most of the people sharing hate posts are educated and working in good places. I too have been a victim of it. But what to do with such people. Police was also remains indifferent against such people who are mostly youths” he said.  Yadav said, ‘’I am sure that educated people are more communal and casteist than the illiterate and semi litrate ones and it could be confirmed from the social media.”

Talking to reporters here, Akhilesh Yadav made these comments in response to a scribe’s question regarding recent fake wedding posts of Congress president Rahul Gandhi appearing in social media. “Now a day’s social media has turned into a medium for insulting the politicians and others through a planned conspiracy. Police too have failed to nab these culprits,” he said.

Sharing his experience, the SP president said that when he was the CM, a youth from Ghazipur shared some objectionable posts against him. “When he was called before me, the youth said he did it just to get fame and to meet me. Before leaving, he also requested me for Lohia awas and a hand pump in his village,” he said. He also spoke about another hate post against him shared by a lady working in a reputed company in Gurgaon.
