The human resource department head of Japanese company Mitsuba Sical India, engaged in the manufacture of automobile parts, was shot at by two men here on Thursday morning.
Police have arrested a relative of a company employee who was sacked three months ago.
Dinesh Kumar Sharma, 50, was going in his car to his office in Pathreri village when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at him at Bilaspur Chowk.
“The assailants targeted his head, but the car at that moment hit a speed breaker and the bullet hit his back instead. Mr. Dinesh continued to drive till the company’s gate, at which point he passed out due to excessive bleeding. The company’s staff then took him to a private hospital in Manesar,” said Mr. Kumar’s father Rati Ram Sharma, a retired district health education officer. Mr. Dinesh was operated upon and is stable.
Mr. Sharma claimed that the duo chased his son till the company’s gate and later to Panchgaon Chowk while he was being taken to hospital. Eyewitnesses said the assailants fired four rounds.
