Job aspirant duped of Rs11.50 lakh by tricksters

Nagpur: A 35-year-old man was duped of Rs11.50 lakh by two tricksters on the pretext of providing him a government job, between March 13, 2017 and April 28, 2017.
The accused have been identified as Moneshwar Bokde, a resident of Ahmednagar, and Akash Singh from Kolkata. They have been booked for fraud following a complaint from the victim.

Police said Rajendra Wahane, a graduate, had been looking for a permanent job since long. After applying for jobs at several private and government offices, Wahane started asking friends for help him get a job. Accordingly, one of his friends told him about the duo and introduced him to them.

Wahane, a resident of Republican Nagar, then met Bokde and Singh, who claimed to have influence over senior railway officials. The duo promised Wahane that they will provide him a job in the railways. Following the meeting, Wahane allegedly made several payments to the accused within a month.

However, the duo started avoiding Wahane thereafter. Wahane then approached Jaripatka police and registered a case of fraud against the duo.

Sources said the accused are well-known tricksters and have a record of frauds. Every time they dupe some person, they claimed to be working for the government at senior posts. Cops are now trying to track the accused.

A case of cheating and dishonesty under section 420 of IPC has been registered against the duo.
