CEDAR RAPIDS — John Daly, Steve Stricker and Kyle Stanley headline the professional golfers joining Cedar Rapids’ Zach Johnson at the eighth annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic this summer.

The event is set for July 9 at Elmcrest Country Club.

Daly has five wins on the PGA Tour, including the 1991 PGA Championship and 1995 British Open. On the Champions Tour, he won the 2017 Insperity Invitational. He has two top-10 finishes this season.

Stanley has two career PGA wins — the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open and the 2017 Quicken Loans National. Stanley has four top 10 finishes this season, including a tie for second at last weekend’s Memorial Tournament.

Stricker owns 12 PGA Tour victories and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the world. He has won two Champions Tour tournaments this season.

“We are excited to welcome JD and Strick back to Cedar Rapids this year,” Johnson said in a news release. “They’ve both been here before and it’s great to have their support again. And Kyle is always great to have at our event. He’s having a lot of success on Tour right now and he has been here almost every year to support what we’re doing.”

Admission is free for the ZJFC, but a ticket is required for entrance. General admission tickets are available at all Cedar Rapids and Marion Hy-Vee grocery and drugstores. Other information can be found here.

Other PGA Tour players participating in this year’s Classic are Wesley Bryan, Jonathan Byrd, Chesson Hadley, Michael Kim, Keith Mitchell and Hudson Swafford. Celebrities participating in the event include professional racecar driver and Cedar Rapids native Landon Cassill, The Bachelor star Ben Higgins, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Denver Broncos place-kicker Brandon McManus.

More names will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year’s event raised more than $1 million. The money raised supports Kids on Course, a program that recently finished its seventh year at Grant, Harrison and Van Buren elementary schools and Roosevelt and Wilson middle schools. This fall, the inaugural class of students will be freshmen in high school. Kids on Course provides tutoring, enrichment, parent engagement strategies and health supports to put students on a path to postsecondary education. Each child reaches his or her academic and individual potential through creative and inventive opportunities that connect students and families to the community, schools and higher learning.
