GUWAHATI: A Memorandum of agreement (MoA) was recently signed between Tezpur
University (TU) and National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) to build collaborations which will help researchers and entrepreneurs commercialize their home-grown technologies. TU registrar Biren Das and H Purushotham, chairman and managing director of NRDC, signed the agreement.
Speaking on the occasion, Purushotham applauded the initiative taken by the
Tezpur University Intellectual Property Rights (TUPIR) cell which will help commercialize innovations and benefit society at large. "We have long felt the need to create a conducive atmosphere for industries so that they feel confident to approach academic institutions to find solutions to their problems. Deepening of industry-academia interaction is expected to enhance the quality of teaching and research in the universities, and production and process outputs for the industry," he said.
TUIPR cell co-ordinator Pritam Deb coordinator said they have been putting in efforts to bridge the divide between industry and academia platform and a national symposium was organized on the issue recently.
