Alderweireld to United and Martial to Spurs?

Manchester United have already secured the £52m signing of midfielder Fred and now they will “turn their attentions” to Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the 29-year-old Belgian international “has an idea” where his future lies, but added that he has two years left on his Spurs contract and it will be the club’s decision if he leaves.

While United mull over a bid for Alderweireld, French forward Anthony Martial could be set for a move in the opposite direction, says the Daily Mail.

Tottenham will “step up their pursuit” of Martial, 22, and are preparing to hold talks with United next week.

It’s reported that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will have £100m to spend on new players this summer and the Mail says he is “prepared to splash a significant percentage of that on Martial”. 

Toure would play for £1 a week

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has said the former Manchester City midfielder would play for £1 a week to “prove Pep Guardiola wrong”. Toure, who hit out at City boss Guardiola in an interview this week, is willing to take a dramatic pay cut in order to play for a top-six club. (Manchester Evening News

If the Gunners want to sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla they will have to pay £35m for the midfielder. Sevilla director of football Joaquin Caparros says talks will only start if Arsenal offer to pay the French star’s £35m release clause. (Daily Express

West Brom defender Jonny Evans is a target for Leicester. The Northern Ireland international is available for a bargain £3m because of a release clause in his contract following West Brom’s relegation from the Premier League. Salomon Rondon: West Brom to West Ham/Chelsea/Tottenham

Another West Brom star set to leave is Salomon Rondon. The Venezuelan striker, 28, has a £16m buy-out clause in his contract and is being linked with London clubs West Ham, Chelsea and Tottenham. (Daily Mirror

Watford will block Everton bid for Richarlison

New Everton manager Marco Silva is interested in signing Richarlison from his former club Watford. The Brazilian is valued at £40m but the Hornets will refuse to do business with their ex-boss because of the “ongoing dispute between the two clubs”. (London Evening Standard
