ROSWELL The Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office received a complaint on Monday morning from a woman who said someone was selling moonshine whiskey for $20 a quart.
When a deputy inquired at the site on Green Ridge Road SE in Union Township east of Roswell, a woman told him that her husband has a still that is not hooked up or making anything. She said it is for personal use only and not sold.
Under Ohio law, a state license is required for making distilled spirits. The illegal manufacture of moonshine is a first-degree misdemeanor.
The report is to be sent to the county prosecutor's office for review.
