MongoDB Inc. shares declined in the extended session Wednesday after the database company's quarterly results and outlook were mostly in line with Wall Street estimates. MongoDB shares fell 3.4% after hours, following a 4.1% surge in the regular session to close at $51.26. The company reported a fiscal first-quarter loss of $29.2 million, or 58 cents a share, compared with a loss of $19.7 million, or $1.50 a share, in the year-ago period. The adjusted loss was 43 cents a share. Revenue rose to $48.2 million from $32.4 million in the year-ago period. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had estimated a loss of 43 cents a share on revenue of $46.5 million. For the second quarter, MongoDB estimates an adjusted loss of 46 cents to 45 cents a share on revenue of $51 million to $52 million. Analysts expect a loss of 46 cents a share on revenue of $50.1 million.
