Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) is collaborating with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) to coordinate the Kansas Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (KS SFMNP) in Butler, Harvey and Sedgwick Counties to identify and distribute food coupons to eligible seniors. This program will provide low-income seniors with $30 in cash benefits in the form of vouchers, for use during the 2018 harvest season to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared and locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey at local participating farmers’ markets between June 1st and October 15, 2018.
Eligible seniors must meet the following criteria:

• Be 60 years of age or older on or before the day of issuance
• Annual gross income (before taxes are withheld) must fall at or below $22459 ($1,872/month) for a one person household, or $30451 ($2538/month) for a two person household.
In Butler County, seniors may apply for the farmers’ market coupons at the Butler County Department on Aging at 2101 Dearborn, Suite 302, Augusta, KS.  There are a limited number of coupons available and applicants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.  We will begin distribution of vouchers at 8 am on Wednesday, June 6th.  Call 316-775-0500 for further details and for information on any outreach distribution events.
