Waterloo Regional Police badge
The Canadian Press/Francis Vachon/FileCAMBRIDGE, Ont. – A Waterloo regional police officer is facing charges following an investigation into an off-duty incident.
Provincial police have charged a 30-year member of the force with one count of uttering threats related to an incident on Tuesday.

The officer, who has been suspended with pay, is scheduled to appear in court in Woodstock, Ont., on June 28.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s professional standards branch will also be conducting a review of the circumstances.
Waterloo police spokeswoman Cherri Greeno says the incident is family related and other details, including the name of the officer, will not be released as they may identify the alleged victim.
