June 4 meeting
KEY ACTION Took under advisement a proposal to allow the village garage behind the village hall to be used as a place to have a veterinarian spay and neuter cats. Tom Graef, a resident, made the proposal. Law Director Jillann Armstrong will study the proposal and bring it back to council for review.
DISCUSSION Council lauded Fiscal Officer Maria App for her clean audits from the state.
OTHER ACTION
n Held a first reading of an ordinance amending a current ordinance about waste receptacles being placed on the curb too early before trash day or not being put away within 24 hours.
n Will review a mowing and live burning ordinance.
n Heard some containers filled with compost are too heavy for village employees to lift. Residents are reminded no trash, sticks, branches, thorns or unacceptable items can be placed on the curb for composting. If the containers are too heavy a note will be placed on the can.
n Heard Councilman Richard Lebold has applied for a grant to purchase fencing along the Towpath Trail.
n Agreed to hire a clerical assistant to the fiscal officer for 3 to 5 hours a month, not to exceed 10 hours per month.
n Passed a resolution to seek a Water Supply revolving Loan account for about $20,000 which is needed for the Asset Management Plan. The plan must be implemented by October.
n Approved the purchase of a Google Cloud account for three separate departments in the village.
n Learned the Ohio Municipal League will hold a seminar on June 29 at the Football Hall of Fame in Canton. Cost is $75 per person.

n The Strawberry Festival will be held June 14-16 in the village. There will be no amusement rides. Rides will be replaced with inflatables for the children. There are a variety of food vendors and a race will be held June 16. A parade will be held at 4 p.m. June 16.
n The police will be attending active shooter training.
n Police responded to 130 calls in May.
n A car show will be held July 21 on Canal Street.
