Prescribed burn wipes out hidden cannabis crop near Boddington

A prescribed burn in a state forest near Boddington has wiped out a hidden cannabis crop.

The sophisticated set-up was found in dense bushland in the Wuraming catchment.

Boddington Police officer in charge Martin Glynn said the cultivation set-up was found by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions during a mop-up following a prescribed burn.

He said various items to suggest the area was used for cultivation was found including, fertilizer, a significant water supply, notebooks and tools.

While forensic officers have investigated the scene and collected fingerprints, no one has been charged.

Sergeant Glynn said the incident was unusual as the area was known to be dry, with a poor water supply.
