AMD stock gains after company says Epyc processor will power new HPE server

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. shares are up 2% in Wednesday morning trading after the company announced overnight that its Epyc 7000 series processor would be powering a new Hewlett Packard Enterprise Inc. server, the ProLiant DL325 Gen10. The server will be available in July. Stifel analyst Kevin Cassidy hiked his AMD price target last week partly because of the company said that a Cisco server platform would use the Epyc 7000 processor. Cassidy predicted that other server companies would be making "similar announcements." AMD shares are up 23% over the past 12 months, while the S&P 500 has gained 13% and the PHLX Semiconductor Index has risen 29%.
