Distraught over not securing a high rank in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), an 18-year-old student on Tuesday allegedly leapt to her death from a city highrise.
Abids police sub-inspector K. Laxmaiah said around 8.45 a.m., Jasleen Kaur Saluja, a resident of Barkatpura, told her family members she was going to the gym. Around 10.10 a.m., she reached the Mayur Kushal Complex in Abids, walked up to the 10th storey and jumped to her death.
“She was unhappy that she could not get a good rank in NEET exams. Her father, who was not in the city, is on his way back now. We have registered a suspicious death case,” he said.
