JAIPUR: Reeling under sultry
weather condition, people have to wait for some more days for
pre-monsoon showers for much-needed respite from the sweltering heat. Jaipurites woke up to a hot morning with city recorded 34.6 degrees Celsius at around 8.30am. The temperature touched 42.9 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
The Met department has also issued warning of dust storm likely to occur at isolated places in next 24 hours and heat wave conditions likely to continue in some parts of the state. In Jaipur, the sky would remain clear and the city may witness dust raising winds to make life difficult for the bikers and pedestrians.
According to the Meteorological department officials, the pre-monsoon activities may hit Jaipur on June 11.
Monsoon is likely to arrive in the last days of June or in the beginning of July.
However, weather remained dry across the state. Some parts of the state witnessed severe heat wave conditions in west
Rajasthan, However, the weather conditions remained different in East Rajasthan, which witnessed warn nights when the temperature was recorded above 30 degrees Celsius. Churu remained the hottest place in the state which recorded 48.5 degrees Celsius. In Sriganganagar, the mercury level settled at 46.5 degrees Celsius. In western parts of the state, the temperature was recorded well above 44 degrees Celsius.
Western part of the state, which has been witnessing severe heat for the past few days, is counting days for monsoon to bring respite from the sweltering heat. Bikaner remained too hot at 46.5 degrees Celsius. Barmer recorded 44.6 degrees and Jaisalmer recorded 45 degrees Celsius.
