Amazon and eBay are removing a smart cuddly toy equipped with a microphone and speaker from their online stores after researchers found that it is riddled with security flaws.
The decision comes after software company Mozilla contacted Amazon on Monday with findings that showed vulnerabilities in a toy range called CloudPets.
One vulnerability allowed potential criminals to install custom software on the toy without any security checks in place to stop them. The software could let a potential hacker take control of the toy, along with any data that passed through it.
