NEW DELHI: Three youths who started stealing cars to fund their drug addiction for Ecstasy have been arrested by the Crime Branch. The youths stole only Honda City cars as they apparently fetched them more money, cops said. The police have also arrested the receiver of the stolen cars.

Four cars, their spare parts and four bikes have been seized from them. The accused have been identified as Hari Om alias Monty (26), Lakshya Saini (19) and Akhil Sharma (21). The receiver was identified as Sunny.

The accused were arrested after police received a tip-off about them coming to outer Delhi to meet an associate.

“The gang broke the rear window glass for easy entry into the cars and stole the vehicles with their master key. The members of this gang are addicted to drugs such as cannabis and Ecstasy tablets. They were stealing the vehicles to fulfil their drug requirement,” joint commissioner (crime) Alok Kumar said.
