Learn how to ride watercrafts during the “Paddle Sports Day” on Saturday at Deerfield Nature Park in Isabella County.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., instructors will be available to act as safety boaters, be available to answer questions, provide basic instruction for strokes and maneuvers and information about boats and the river, according to a news release from the Isabella County Parks and Recreation.
Kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards will be available to try out in the beach area.
In addition to “Paddle Sports Day”, “Play on the Way” with Central Michigan University will also be at the park. Their activities will be free and are for all ages.
To ensure there are enough watercrafts available preregister by calling the Parks Main Office at (989) 317-4083 by noon Friday. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The park is located at 2425 W. Remus Road in Mt. Pleasant.
