The first trailer of Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming film Five Weddings is out and it conforms to every stereotype about romantic movies and weddings you have ever seen.

Directed by Namrata Singh Gujral, the film is set to hit theatres on August 24.

An Indian-origin American journalist hates India but visits the country for an assignment. Caught in the drama of Punjabi weddings, she finally stumbles upon “real India” - the poor and suffering people and falls in love with the country as well as the cop who has been showing her around. Nargis Fakhri plays the journalist and Rajkummar is the cop. Nargis took to Twitter to share the trailer:

Nargis was last seen in Riteish Deshmukh’s Banjo in 2016 while Rajkummar has been receiving great laurels for his performances in Amit Masurkar’s Newton and Hansal Mehta’s Omerta. He is currently working on Fanne Khan alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor. He will also be seen in Stree and Mental Hai Kya.
