Nagpur: Reading Bhagwad Gita would serve no purpose unless it is backed by treading on the path Lord Krishna has shown to become an ideal person, said noted thinker
Vivek Ghalsasi on Wednesday.
Delivering a discourse on ‘Dnyaneshwari’ on the first day of a seven-day lecture series at Sant Dnyaneshwar Mandir at Bajaj Nagar, Ghalsasi said, “The definition of an ideal person is the one who understands what the Gita has to offer to the soul.”
Ghalsasi gave various examples from the Gita and said what Lord Krishna told Arjuna on the battlefield was all about life, its meaning and how to get
rid of emotions that are detrimental to the soul.
Envy is an enemy as it leads one’s mind to a different path which distracts attention from achieving the goal. It clouds one’s mind with negative thoughts. Therefore, extraordinary efforts are required to get over envy and win the battles one has to face in life, he added.
Earlier, Ghalsasi was welcomed by Dnyaneshwar Shendre, president of Dnyaneshwar Mandir. Adhishree Deshpande conducted the programme.
