Surat:
Under the aegis of Collective Hive, 34 amateur artists will be exhibiting their works in Surat. At the exhibition ‘Open Studio’, a varied collection of artistic impressions rendered with oil on canvas,
serigraphs,
charcoal,
acrylic paints,
water colours, and pens and ink will be on display from 4pm to 9pm at Shott,
in the bylane of Valentine multiplex on June 8.
“Artworks of several senior students who have received rave reviews, as well as works by beginners, will be up for viewing. Offering an array of original styles and expressions on canvas. I have just begun to dabble in water colour on paper and am extremely excited,” said Krishna Jariwala, one of the artists.
Well-known artist Charanjeet Singh , an alumnus of MS University, whose works have been exhibited in India as well as London, is the organizer of Open Studio. Singh said, “This will be a haven for all art buffs. Amateurs as well as aspiring artists will be encouraged to experiment. The vision is to value the small-scale, the eccentric, the mundane; to perceive emotions painted in an unconventional, yet disciplined method.”
