Urged to avoid last-minute rush; submit forms in advance

Delhi University on Tuesday issued a notification asking all applicants who have submitted more than one application for admission to retain only one correct successfully submitted application and cancel the remaining ones.

“We advise them to do this so that only one application per applicant for admission to DU remains with us,” said a university official.

Cancellation of a particular online application can be done by the applicants by logging onto their dashboard through relevant e-mail ID and clicking on the ‘cancellation’ button. “No grievance will be entertained pertaining to cancelled application forms,” said the university.

Portal closes on June 7

DU’s online portal for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday and university officials said this deadline will not be extended under any circumstances as preparations have to be made to conduct entrance examinations.

“As the submission is online only, we suggest as a precaution against server overload that applicants should avoid last-minute rush. Fill in and submit the form well in advance as the last days see a heavy traffic on our servers and the technology may thwart your attempts of submission of the form. The online form will not be available after the last date,” the university said.

The university portal this year opened well in advance, giving students plenty of time to fill in the application and then update their marks once the board had released them.

The last update provided by the university stated that 2,05,800 students had registered on the portal for merit-based courses.

The admission committee shared that the highest number of applicants were from Delhi while the second and third highest applicants were from the neighbouring States of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

AFC quota

The university also released the schedule of admission to merit-based UG courses under Armed Forces Category (CW) quota. For priority 1 (widows/wards of defence personnel killed in action) verification of documents will happen on June 11 and June 12. The complete schedule is posted on the DU admission portal.
