State denying loans to BCs: Laxman

The Congress at the Centre and the TRS in Telangana are going against the interests of Backward Classes (BCs) in their own ways. And, it is only the BJP which can ensure social justice to all the BCs as the NDA-led Modi Government is keen to give constitutional status to the BC Commission, said party State president K. Laxman on Tuesday.

Addressing the BC Morcha executive meeting at the party office, he alleged that the Congress hatched a conspiracy to stop the government from providing constitutional status to the BC Commission. Similarly, the State Government is denying loans to BC students and the prospective entrepreneurs as it has not take up any decision on categorisation of the BCs. The BJP leader castigated the government for trying to include Muslims in the BC list. People are not going to fall for the propaganda unleashed by the Opposition that the Modi Government is against the minorities, BCs and Dalits, he said. If that was the case, there was no way the party would have won in States like Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, besides others, which have substantial population of the minorities, Dalits and BCs, said Mr. Laxman. The party’s newly appointed AP chief K. Lakshminaraya said the time has come for all the BCs to come together and ensure the plans being hatched against the Modi Government do not succeed as for the first time there is a Prime Minister hailing from a poor and BC background.

Party national general secretary K. Muralidhar Rao highlighted the importance of having well represented booth committees with mandatory OBC and women party workers throughout the State and making optimum use of social media. Vice-president K. Venkateswarlu, OBC leader K. Narasimha Yadav and others spoke.
