Karnataka: H D Kumaraswamy ministry expanded, 25 ministers inducted |
The 15-day-old H D Kumaraswamy ministry in Karnataka was expanded today with the induction of 25 ministers. Governor Vaju Bhai Vala administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new members of the cabinet. Of the 25 ministers, fourteen are from the Congress, nine from its ruling coalition partner JD(S) and one each from the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Party. After the cabinet expansion, 27 out of available 34 cabinet berths are filled now including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister post and seven of them are still vacant. The coalition Government of JD(S) and Congress headed by H D Kumaraswamy had won the floor test on May 25.
